Children love the relaxed atmosphere of our music classes. Students’ musical abilities progress rapidly in fun group environments where they can enjoy making music together!

Piano Classes Group Keyboard

PIANO CLASSES


Students learn through a stimulating course written by Mayron Cole. Her publications are the country’s leading group piano method!

Each level has practice sheets, rhythm exercises, and fun worksheets. Additionally, Alfred Basic Piano Method is supplemental material that inspires and motivates students.

Kids each use an electric piano for ensemble playing or individual practice during class. While classmates use headphones to work silently, the teacher makes rounds to work one-on-one with each student every week. Learn more.

Group Keyboard Classes for Preschoolers

KINDERKEYS


Open to children aged 4-6


Students sing, dance, and play percussive instruments and learn how to read music from the first week. After 1 year, students are invited to play in our winter and spring recitals. Learn more.

Group Guitar Music Classes

GUITAR CLASSES

A combination of methods and books is used for this class. The Hal-Leonard Guitar Method is a standard that our beginning students often use.

Students must bring their guitar, and any guitar will do. Amps are available in the studio, so students only need their guitar and a quarter-inch cable. Learn more.

Group Rock Band Class Classes

KIDS ROCK BAND

Perfect for students who already have the ability to play an instrument (or a few!). Welcoming seasoned newcomers and long-term students alike.

Rehearsed bands book family-fun shows in and around McHenry County on occasional weekends. Students are generally grouped by age, ability level, and genre interest, depending on scheduling and availability. Currently Limited. Call us for more information at 815-444-9444.

HOMESCHOOL PROGRAMS

Dedicated to providing music classes for all students, Music Makers offers homeschool cooperative classes for your students and students in the community. Learn more.

Since the COVID-19 Pandemic, Music Makers has offered virtual lessons for private and group students. Learn more.

STUDY SPACES

As a music lessons service, our space is generally free during school hours.

We are renting out our space for practice or study to students who could benefit from a quiet place to complete work or practice their instruments. Learn more.
